
Supporting customer needs
The key to my job as Head of Digital Marketing and Communications for Benelux is to understand our customers’ needs and desires. Do we really understand those? How can we help the customer to fulfill their needs and solve their problems? Do we know what’s happening in the market? We assess how we’re doing so we can continuously improve our performance and ensure that we add value where it is most impactful. Experimentation is key. We determine hypotheses based on data and customers’ insights, we test, measure, and learn. That part of marketing is where my true passion is.

That is also what positively surprised me the most: how big an impact lighting can have on sustainability. Light is all around us. In our homes, streets, offices, etc. Replacing conventional lighting with connected LED is such a quick win for the environment and for you. That makes what I’m working on very tangible and purposeful. And the benefits even go beyond lighting, as every day the company is working on lighting innovations that can positively impact the environment and society. For instance, by developing light recipes that help farmers to grow more and better-quality crops, optimizing food availability. This type of innovation is what motivates me to give it my all every day.
Key advice: be yourself
Signify embraces people from all different backgrounds and interests as they bring in new insights and fresh approaches to tackling the challenges that the company and its customers are facing. So, my advice to people who join Signify is to stay true to themselves as the company truly enables them to be the best version of themselves.
