Venturing into a new direction
I never did an internship as part of my finance master. Curious about the corporate environment and keen to learn about the inner workings at such a large, international, and stock-listed company, I decided to throw myself in the deep-end and started as a junior FP&A analyst. When Signify restructured parts of its organization, impacting my job, I decided to seize the opportunity and search for other internal jobs. This is how I found the job as a Component planner at the company’s horticulture lighting business unit.

Going for growth
Having such an impact after having been with the company less than two years makes me truly feel valued and appreciated. On top of that, I really feel empowered to challenge myself and to keep on developing myself within Signify. Last year for instance, I was asked to join a supplier audit in one of our markets. Getting such an opportunity after having been such a short time within a for me entirely new discipline, really illustrates the career opportunities that Signify is willing to provide to new employees.
Key advice: embrace every growth opportunity
Joining such a large and complex organization can be scary. I’m pleased that Signify gave me ample time to learn and allowed me to make mistakes. So, my advice would be to not be scared and to embrace every opportunity at professional and personal growth that you can get – the company offers a plethora of career opportunities that really put you in control of your own development.
